Annual Day Function – Grade 6 to 12 – “A Tale of two worlds”
The annual school day is the most anticipated event of the year to break the monotonous schedule. It is an annual event held by schools to showcase students’ talents, remove stage fear, build self- confidence, and teach teamwork. It helps students to build confidence, develop personalities, and express their opinions. It is also one of the ways to discover hidden talents in students. This year the annual day was celebrated on 1st of November with the theme” G20 – A Tale of two worlds featuring America and India” . Teachers, students, school leaders, and parents were able to gather on the same platform and have a wonderful experience together.
The function started at 6:00pm. in the school playground. All the participants were very enthusiastic to perform for the annual function and our teachers helped everybody get ready on time. On this special day, Ex. MLA Mr. Bhanudas Murkute was our chief guest. The other dignitaries included members of the Foundation, Dr. Manoj Narwade, Trustee and Secretary, Vikhe Patil Foundation, Pune. Ms Candice Briganza Principal, VPMS Lohegaon. Parents & guardians of all the students were also invited on this day. The stage was completely decorated with lights and flowers, G20 nation’s flags with the 17 goals. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp at the hands of Mr. Bhanudas Murkute, our chief guest. The dignitaries were felicitated and welcomed by the School Principal Ms. Savita Rupwate. The cultural show began with a heart beating Musical Concert by our students. After the speech by the Chief guest and Principal ma’am, the function proceeded further. Thereafter, one by one, the students of different classes performed various programs. Students from all classes participated in this program. The students presented beautiful dances on various themes like, dance forms of India and America, Carnival, Chandrayaan, Indo-western face off etc. A few students from different classes performed theme dances on the Independence of the
country, and Unity in Diversity. With this ceremony, a new sense of pride was developed and others were encouraged. Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice-principal Mr. Girish Deshpande to thank everyone present for their constant support. The teachers, coordinators, incharges played a vital role in making this program a grand success. The support from the school Principal was continuous and constant.
