“Sports do not build character. They reveal it” — JOHN WOODEN
Sports teach us a lot of important life skills, while also keeping us physically and mentally healthy. Maintaining a healthy level of physical activity and sports involvement offers several health advantages, including improved cardiovascular fitness, bone health, reduced risk of obesity, better sleep, and coordination and balance. National Sports Day, which is observed every year on August 29 in India,also known as Rashtriya Khel Diwas. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend , Major Dhyan Chand.
Little Flower School, Loni celebrated National Sports Day virtually with great spirit and joy. Students of std X conducted virtual classes from class 1 to 10. The students shared the importance of sports, information of sportsperson, and the information regarding sports and awards. They shared this information with the help of Power Point Presentation. They had good control over the classes. It was a great initiative.
STUDENTS WORKSHOP ON OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS:- VI – X
Sport and physical fitness is an essential part of students’ life. The school is always trying to provide various opportunities and experiences to the students to explore new things. The school also takes initiative to invite experts from different sectors and guide them. Hence the school organized a webinar on topic OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS by an international athlete Mr. Devidas Yarmal from Varvandi (Ashwi), Rahata who participated in various marathons and preparing for Olympics 2024 on August 2021.
He guided the students about how to acquire physical fitness, flexibility, speed and stamina by maintaining specific lifestyle and diet. He also told them how they can participate in various sports competitions at state and national level and get qualified for international competitions. He explained how the students will be benefitted if they achieve success at different competitions at state, national and international level. At the end he answered questions raised by the students and promised that in future he would like to visit the school and guide them well.
The students enjoyed the session by asking their doubts and showing interest in participation of different sports competitions.
The webinar was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Vaishali Vyavahare. The school Principal guided and supported for the successful organization of these sessions.
